A Message To Fundamentalists

Courtesy of my boyfriend, Eric. :)

Xians, please stop being afraid to find out more about your religion - if you don't, then you're just following in blind faith, and the maker of any good story or any historical event can show what happens when people follow blindly without questioning what they're doing.

Hi all you fundamentalists. This is a person coming from a strange place known as "reality" maybe you guys visited some time. Maybe you got bored or scared of this place, but you did find a book that you love and decided to only use that book and ignore the rest of reality.
If you guys did your research you would know that the bible is no more than an astrological theological literary hybrid. Too many big words ?

Well okay, I'll explain.

You see Jesus obviously resembles the sun on its journey through the universe. From our point of view it revolves around the earth, but I mean, were just looking at it from the complete wrong angle, but that aside, it's fascinating to see that the sun actually reaches it lowest point around December 25th, it reaches it highest point again in spring. Why is this Jesus ? Well, he dies, only to come back again, just like the sun. People back then were fixated on one thing and that was eating and surviving. The sun offered warmth and light, all things necessary to (have you already guessed it ?) right, grow food. They didn't have fancy telescopes to analyze the stars correctly or understand the proper relationships between the sun and earth, so they had to make due with what they had, which was a very powerful and blooming imagination.

There have been many "prototypes" for Jesus even before Jesus (and the church's explanation that Satan timewarped to before his conception to create these prototypes is simply the cheapest kind of trick in the book.) Horus had a similar life path, as well as Gilgamesh, shoot, even the Matrix is the Jesus story.

Why is this ? Well it all stems back to the ancient Greeks who believed they had found the secret to perfect drama, or a good story. The three act system is still used today in most Hollywood productions and these stories often have the metaphor of change symbolize by the metaphorical death and rebirth of the hero character, though in ancient Greek tragedy it was usually just death.

The important message being that change is life and stagnation is death. The catholic church has controlled the mentality of millions of people from Rome for centuries. They follow a dogmatic system of beliefs that does not change. It's stagnation. You are forcing your own minds to stagnate, your inability to assimilate new information because you'll reject it as "un-christian" or blasphemy prevents you from evolving mentally. There are too many crazy Christians out there who's damaged mentality is threatening to destroy society.

Don't you guys understand that the centralization of power, be it political, financial, physical or mental, is dangerous. You give a few people, who are in no way better, smarter or stronger than you yourself (they're also human beings for crap's sake), all the power over your mind and just blindly accept that ? Of course the few are going to abuse their power, look at history;

The feudal system, Ludwig the XIV, Hitler, Stalin, the Inquisition are all examples of the few dominating over the many, abusing their power to enslave the poor and uneducated.

But nowadays it doesn't have to be that way. You can free your minds and explore different alternatives to the bible. You can't limit your mind like that, you will be unable to see any other idea, or option, or for that matter the truth.

It's just what the elite want, they want you to be unable to think outside of the box, because that makes you easier to control. You fundamentalists have been barking up the wrong tree for centuries. Science doesn't have all the answers, that's because we haven't had enough time. Unlike religion, science evolves and constantly questions its own discoveries.

It's all based upon facts that build upon each other. Take the development of the computer for example. Without the basics of electromagnetism and electricity partly taught to us by Benjamin Franklin, we wouldn't be able to build a computer. A lot of our technological advancements have only been possible because of some individuals who resisted the catholic brainwashing and they started research. Look at Galilei ! The church tried to silence him because he had actually found out the truth.

Face it, the bible does not explain anything of the physical world. We know so much because we examined the universe and we used our knowledge to manipulate reality on a level unthinkable by the inhabitants of the feudal system. Some of you guys have trouble believing that the world is older than 6000 years, even though in the bible itself there are many people who live for about 900 years and therefore outlive the earth's age themselves. That's obvious hypocrisy, it's bad writing.

Listen, if the earth was really so young, you might as well go and tell all the geologists who make their pay off of knowing things like that that they're wrong and might as well quit their jobs. Unfortunately that whole industry depends on that so you're going to hit deaf ears.
To sum it all up, I only joined this forum to be the voice of common sense.

Here's a quote to get you thinking :

"During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act. "
- George Orwell

Peace and wake up

The best thing I've seen all day.

http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/16335450.html?style=mine#cutid1 <-- Awesome.  Check it.

And now, poignant writing, due to a shitty living situation with an irresponsible ass hat who completely hung me out to dry - almost got me evicted from my room in my house, all because he simply doesn't want to get a job and is fine living off the fat of money that yet another lonely little girl like I was - someone else who can buy his friendship.

I'm sickened.  I'm heart broken.

And yet in my attempt to be the world's best friend, I still want to try to save my friendship with him. He's my brother.  I've already lost a sister and kick myself to this day, and I'm waiting to see how many more people are willing to sacrifice my friendship with them because I'm simply "not worth it."

Thanks.

A letter to Mike A.

Mike, my friend - life is full of circles, waves, spirals, hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades.  But alas, our minds are shapeless.  We attempt to fit them into perfect boxes, spheres, wormholes, but what we find out is never satisfying.

Why can we get no... *guitar strum* Satisfaction.  What was it... this flicker of life behind "those" eyes - what about "these" eyes?  Or, for that fact - "their" eyes?

Where does the flicker start?  Why does it stop?  Do our souls get so wrapped up in the "he says" "she says" that the flicker suddenly is squashed - deep down beyond the hope for future?

My heart is fill with numerous sandbags, weighing my mind and body - making it sink deeper and deeper as I cry out for stagnation - no such luck.

Below the waves of the ocean is an unknown city - it's taken over the skeleton of a whale.  His strong study ribs are now just a play place for small fishies to chase each other in and out of.  Once, a king of the sea, his majestic eyes are rotted and long gone, left behind ina time where he was safe in the ocean.

I guess all good creatures must die.

Do all good ideas eventually die as well?  What about the ideas presented in our history texts?
real men, Dead Dreams, dead glories.

But alas!  There is hope! See the little girl in the back of the room?  She loves these dead names, dead ideas.  Now they live within her brain mass - waiting to be explored.  But alas again, she is not protected from the beating of the eternal clock.  Look as she ages - she's 5, she's 15, now 27, now she's got a daughter of her own.  Her own dreams and hopes lay dormant in the twinkle of her lilttle girl's eyes.  The cycle continues, it can't break!

Hey everyone.

It's time for spring cleaning.

IF YOU WANT OFF MY FLIST, NOWS YOUR CHANCE!!! Get out while you still can!

You don't have to post if you want to stay on - this is for the people who want the opportunity to remove me and visa versa. Do we not read each other's journals anymore?  Am I just a h0r?  Is my perky too much for even those hopped up on coffee?  Don't want to read my friend's only entries?

Then NOW, absolutely NOW is your chance to get rid of me, good and for all! I'll hang out over on this side of the  Flist, with the cooooooool people.

So, comment if you want to remove me. Or just remove me.

So, looking up more stuff on the stars, astronomy and etc.

I have an  upside down "Orion's belt" located on my chin.   That's weird.  My new blog will be up very soon - it'll be located at www.cherry-fizz.com/blog - it's called "a day in the life."

27 - my lucky number.  The parents of the plaedies and hades - atlas (27 degrees in Taurus) where my true node is.  My pluto - er - mysterious power - is in the 12th house which is in scorpio - the scorpion.  Two planets - Saturn, the discipliner, and Pluto - mysteries (the department of mysteries.) Atlas, carrys the world on his back.  I, with the blue green eyes with the joy around the pupil - my iris, my way of seeing in the world - is blossoming.

What does it all mean?

Dust, fractals. :O

Or that I know patterns of fractals - but we have free will, choice.  George Costanza is a great example of a fractal - he instead went against his nature and nurture to get an awesome job, he stopped worrying and did it.

And it was awesome.

Sexy times, chillun'.

Currently, my friendly readers, I am interested in the way I work.

How ghastly. *said in a spooky voice*

And now. For happy. BUBBLES. RAINBOWS. SUN-FUCKING-SHINE.  (I'm an angry happy person.  It's a complicated thing - don't ask, and the fairies won't bite.)

  DAY-SIGN: 2-Deer
(Maya: 2-Manik)

  YEAR: North-13 (Tikal System)

  13-DAY PERIOD: 1-Death
(Maya: 1-Cimi)

  NIGHT LORD: 8

  VENUS PHASE: Morning Star

Mayan Astrology )
Meanings )

This is the second day of the 13-day period beginning with 1-Death. Beneath your surface personality you have a strong commitment to your community. You will sacrifice time for others, though you are often not sure just why it is that you do this. In fact, you often find yourself in predicaments where you must sacrifice something in order to move forward. You have an extremely strong sense of tradition and are attracted to history and antiquities. You are, ultimately, a very down-to-earth person, peaceful, family conscious, and you tend to take on plenty of family obligations.

(But question: How much of that describes many women in general? How many of you girls, or you guys, feel this way? )

Hey world!

Two offerings - please read them, I like what I wrote, and hope you enjoy them too. I especially want feedback! (Positive, please. It's not going to do anyone any good to flame them for beliefs.)

Fundamentalist Hoax
It seems to me – although very I am young – that the main problem with this world is this idea of fundamentalism. I’ve only also recently learned (well by learn I mean –“digest the concept”) of the idea of reaping what you sow. Getting out what you put in. By this logic, do correct me if I’m wrong, but if you sow fundamentalism, you’re going to reap a whole lot more fundamentalism? To make sure that you, the intrepid reader, and I, your lucidly lovely writer, are on the same page:

Fundamentalism
1. (religion) The tendency to reduce a religion to its most fundamental tenets, based on strict interpretation of core texts.
2. (finance) The belief that fundamental financial quantities are the best predictor of the price of an instrument.
3. The beliefs held by those in this movement.
4. Strict adherence to any set of basic ideas or principles.

Okay, now that’s settled. )

Art & War

The loud drum beats come in, and in my mind the first couple of cords to “All Along the Watchtower” strums. “There must be some way out of here...” said the joker to the thief –“there’s too much confusion. I can’t get no relief.” This song was released in 1968, three years after our country entered Vietnam, written by Bob Dylan and performed by Jimmy Hendrix, who died at the early age of 27. A true American if there ever was one, he was a rock star. His violence towards life ended his own very early, but he lives forever on in his music. Whenever I think of Vietnam, this song starts to play its magic in my head.

The thing we can't change about today's present is... )

Oh, yeah, diagnosis: Truth hurts. You reap what you sow. Ouch.

Re diagnosis: Thank you Ben - truth does not exist, facts or no facts, therefore, it cannot hurt.

Anyone else have a better conclusion? I'd love to read it! :)
